FAQ

1. When and where is the Desaru International Long Distance & Sprint Triathlon be held?
   The Long Distance Triathlon will be held on Saturday, 1 Aug 2009, and the Sprint Triathlon will be held on Sunday, 2 Aug 2009. Both events starting time is 9.00am. The event venue is at the Desaru Golden Beach Hotel, Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia.
2. How does the relay team event work?
   The relay team has to have minimum 2 participants to complete the 3 disciplines. In the Mixed Relay, each team must consists of at least one member of the opposite sex.
3. Does the Organizer accept entries via email or fax?
   Yes, provided payment is made. Email or fax entries must be acccompanied by bank-in slip as the prove of payment. Only local cheques are accepted.
4. Will I receive a full refund of entry fee if I withdraw from the race?
   No refund once the entry has been processed and confirmed.
5. Can I transfer my entry fee to my friend if I am not attending the race?
   Entry fee is non-transferable.
6. Can I change my team member's name if he/she cannot attend?
   Changes must be done before closing date via email or fax to the Organizer. Any last minute changes will cost RM10.00 per information.
7. How do I calculate my age group category?
   Age is calculated based on 31 December 2009. Eg. Your date of birth is 5 June 1979, your age is 30 and the age group category is 30 - 39.
8. What are the rules and regulations of the race?
   Please go to the homepage of this website. All rules and regulations are stated there clearly. Please read it carefully.
9. Will there be any medical services available on race day?
   Yes. There will be a medical tent with paramedics on site on race day. There will be ambulances on the course as well.
10. Are there any water stations on the course?
    Yes. There are several water stations along the cycling (every 30km) and running (every 1.2km) course. There are also isotonic drinks provided at selected water stations at the run course. Energy food (PowerBar & banana) will be provided at the station in front of Desaru Golden Beach Hotel.
